Copywriter [Remote or In-Office]

Content is king. Soooooo, that would make our copywriters "kingmakers." As such, you’re practically royalty yourself. As a Copywriter, you reign over researching. You’re the Queen or King of Concepting. The Honorable Outliner. The Viceroy of Value. The Rex or Regina of Writing. The Earl of Editing. The Pontiff of Proofreading. And you do it all as the Prince or Princess of Personality. Have we taken the royal thing too far? Absolutely. Are we gonna stop? Not a chance.

So, what traits make you so majestic? We’re glad you asked, your Highness. You’re curious, organized, proactive, and creative. You’re not a writer, my liege—you’re a content marketer who just happens to write great copy. You love variety in your work, you rule at writing for a plethora of audiences, and you’re passionate about creating content that gets armies of admirers. But forget bougie writing. You’re a royal who writes like a human, a veritable person of the people.

About Veracity

Penicillin changed medicine. The Beatles changed music. And Veracity Insurance Solutions is changing insurance (hey, we can’t all be doctors and musicians). What GEICO did for home and auto insurance — well, we’re doing that for the world of business insurance. We make small business insurance simple, affordable, and buyable online without talking to an agent. We’re growing FAST, and we want you to be a part of it.

A Day in the Life of a Copywriter at Veracity

While there may not be a “standard day” in the life of a Copywriter, most days consist of convening, collaborating, calendaring, concepting, constructing, copywriting, and creating content (alliteration FTW!) You’ll be regularly preparing copy for our websites, landing pages, lead magnets, emails, case studies, and more. We believe content should always be helpful, insightful, impactful, human, and when the occasion calls for it, entertaining even.

Reporting to the Director of Content, you’ll work closely with a Product Marketing Manager, Designers, SEO Specialists and other teammates to produce helpful, human, and SEO-friendly content that moves people to act. You’ll conduct research on topics, draft content, go through the editing and approval process, and prepare copy that’s ready to be published on our sites and blogs, in videos and ads and beyond. You may on occasion be drafted to help out in other areas, too. “Drafted.” Get it?!

What You Need to Succeed

Forget B2B or B2C. We believe marketing is H2H: human-to-human. So first, be human. Easy peasy, right? Well, the second is harder: write like one. Not like all of the stuffy, boring-@$$ “marketing speak” you hear every day. We want to write real-world, relatable, revelatory stuff. We’re talking copy that punches them in the face with value and moves people to action. Originality, creativity, and collaborating with others are must-have skills here.

If you’re collaborative and understand the world of digital marketing and advertising, you’ve got what it takes. Experience in insurance or writing content geared to SMB audiences is a huge plus but definitely not required. What is required? The skills of a great content marketer, experience writing for both search engines and humans, and an attitude of being humble, hungry, smart, and proactive.

What We Offer

We offer 160 hours of PTO and two floating holidays. Our “numbers guy” says that’s 4+ weeks which is pretty great. We offer generous salaries, a bonus structure, a great 401k (company match FTW!), 100% free mental health and therapy tools, health/dental/vision plans, and more.

But nothing compares to being part of explosive growth and working with some truly remarkable humans. See what they say about working at Veracity: https://youtu.be/DT5n7oU0Hi0

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
